I write this post with a little bit of a heavy heart. My little girl is growing up! She is older and beautiful and I am not ready for all of this. Her chubby cheeks are thinning out, she likes boys (luckily isn’t obsessed yet just thinks they are cute), and is no longer a little girl! :…(. Last night some new friends came over for dinner, the illustrator for my upcoming children’s book in fact (they are super sweet!). Their daughter who is a little older than Big Sister told her that Santa isn’t real. She said that her Mommy said that he isn’t real. She started to cry. The poor little girl came out to her daddy crying thinking Big sister didn’t want to be her friend anymore. But I reassured her that everything was ok and that Big Sister will be ok. I also told Blu (the illustrator/new friend) that Big sister is very gullible which is a blessing and a curse and that I would be able to restore her faith. So after they left we talked more about it and told her that some people don’t believe and it is ok.
I am mentally preparing myself to tell her next year……. maybe. Until then I had talked about this last year with her and so this year I created a magical Santa key. I would love to ship one to you! You can see them below and you can order them here… Love Marriage Baby Carriage’s etsy page
These would be great as an advent gift on the last night before Christmas or as an Elf on the shelf gift the last night.
I hope you enjoy the moments of innocence and excitement with your little ones this season!
