I did two sessions with this couple, they just couldn’t get enough of my skills ;) . Really they just wanted more time and honestly if you are going to do two hours splitting it up into two sessions , which is what I do now (one hour engagement session), is a GREAT idea! Mainly because your “smiler” gets a little tired by the second hour. This couple is super sweet and I look forward to photographing their beautiful wedding in July! (Don’t worry about me being prego I have a GREAT assistant that has worked over 15 weddings with me, Sarah, she is awesome!) So here are the images from their fabulous session…

The wonderful Shamika with An Event to Remember did a fabulous job coordinating this beautiful wedding. Blossom’s Floral Artistry did the beautiful bouquets and centerpieces. They had a GREAT fajita bar from Fajita Warehouse. The cakes were FABULOUS!  Michelle’s Patisserie created these one of a kind creations that were delicious. I LOVED the grooms cake it was soooo original! Kyle is a doctor so it was a PERFECT cake for him!! In the hustle and bustle of it all I forgot to partake in the wonderful Kenny’s Coffee bar but it was a favorite among the bride and guests. All together all these lovely vendors made for one beautiful and unforgettable night for Kristin and Kyle.

I have been swamped with life, being pregnant (due Oct. 22!!), had our car totalled last week, second shooting with the fabulous Cory Ryan, shooting quite a few engagement sessions and family sessions, AND having a root canal tomorrow- GOOD FUN STUFF (well minus the car and root canal OBVIOUSLY :) !! So I wanted to share with you all some AMAZING testimonials that some recent and past clients have said about my services and the links to their comments. (I will be posting more work soon!)

Just because posts are a lot more fun with photos this is my “nugget” swimming for the second time that day! You can follow my online personal photos here… http://web.stagram.com/n/jessica_monnich/

Christine- I was very picky when it came to choosing a photographer for our wedding. I thoroughly researched all wedding photographers in my area, and in my opinion, Jessica was by far the best deal I found! I could not believe the extent of services she included for such a reasonable price… ESPECIALLY considering the level of talent that she possesses. She has tons of experience shooting weddings, which I found makes all of the difference in the world when it comes to capturing the special moments and details other photographers with less experience would miss. She has been married before, so she knows which photos most couples want most. She captured all of the most special moments at my wedding and I almost never even knew she was there! She is very kind, patient and personable, as well as extremely professional! She sprained her ankle during my ceremony, and I never knew anything about it until after the wedding was over! Not even a sprained ankle could keep her from making sure she didn’t miss a moment. You can tell she really loves her job and runs her business with great integrity! Hire her to shoot your engagement/wedding photos and I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed!

Jason Lantroop-  Jessica was a pleasure to work with! She put everyone at ease with her pleasant manner, and the pictures turned out wonderfully!

Stacy Chambers- Jessica did an amazing job photographing our wedding. She captured every detail so that we are able to have those memories forever. We ran a 5k the morning of the wedding and she was up bright and early at the starting line to get pictures of the race…and hung in there till the end at 11p. And she was a lot of fun to work with!

Kenitres- I don’t even know where to start with Jessica. She is AMAZING! She is a wonderful photographer, talented, patient and kind. Aside from all that she is a great person too.

I booked Jessica without even meeting her. We had a phone convo and it was pretty much a sealed deal from there. Her photos spoke for themselves. She did our engagement photos, my boudoir session and was there all day for our wedding. Her services are wonderfully prices for the quality of photos you receive. She is fast at getting out previews of the photos as well which is awesome because no one likes to wait forever for pics.

I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer! Jessica and her assistant made the day. Wedding photography is important to me and she understood that to the fullest. You can tell that she loves what she does. She was always on time and always professional. I loved her service and hope to work with her again in the future!

~K&W

Lacy- Every cherishable moment was captured so discretely. Jessica is such a sweet, laid back and creative person to work with. Her passion for weddings in general and photography are evident. I definitely recommend using her.

Heather- absolutely hands down my most favorite photographer ever..

Moby- It’s the complete balance between professionalism and personality that makes Jessica so wonderful to work with. She gave us not just what we wanted, but also all that we needed to fully remember what made our wedding so special. I would highly recommend Jessica Monnich Photography to anyone wanting the quality and performance you expect on your special day

Erica- The pictures at our wedding were the most important thing to me aside from the dress. These will be viewed for many, many years and I will show my children and grandchildren. Jessica was absolutely amazing in taking our photographs. She paid attention to details and captured moments that I don’t even remember. There were times where I just forgot her staff was there taking pictures because they stay in the background and out of the way. I would recommend anyone to Jessica Monnich Photography.

Catering with a Twist- Jessica Monnich Photography is absolutely amazing, not only has Catering with a Twist had the pleasure of working along side of them, I have personally used Jessica Monnich Photography for our engagement pictures and seriously could NOT have asked for better! The artsy approach and skill shines thru in every picture that is taken. Would recommend Jessica Monnich Photography to EVERYONE and DO!!

Stylish Happenings- I’ve worked with Jessica Monnich on a number of events and brides are always super excited about her work! It’s always a pleasure to work with fab vendors like her. if you want fun and modern photography for your wedding, DEFINITELY give her a call!

So my husband and I celebrated our 7th anniversary. It was a lot of fun and exciting. He gave me a new iPad (so now I can do fun instagrams yay!!)

This one is us just being silly while waiting for our food at Annie’s on Congress. He got these tatoos because I have low blood pressure so the Dr. told me that I am able to eat as much salt as I want (Thanks Dad!! :) then he got the pepper for our daughter who is “spicy” although she wants to be like mommy so she always says she is the salt too :) .

I’m a lucky woman! I got him a massage (that we have to reschedule because they accidentally booked us for the wrong time, oh well things happen.) and both of us a night stay at Casulo hotel here in town, we has our own in ground Japanese bath! We also went to see Dark Shadows at Ipic, wasn’t as funny as I thought it would be! Daniel walked out with the same feelings he had watching Breaking Dawn when he went with me to see that :) not really a cheesy vampire fan. Then Saturday we went to Annie’s on Congress it was awesome! Sooooo going back. I wanted to surprise Daniel with dinner so we went to Whole Foods and picked out what we wanted (not the surprise part).

He is so cute! I love him and all his quirky facial expressions.

Then I blindfolded him and drove to the top of the parking garage downtown where he proposed. It was awesome! We danced to the same song he played when he proposed then ate on a blanket.

I got those battery tea lights just in case because at our wedding it was soooo windy that all the hundreds of candles we bought wouldn’t light!

It was a pretty sunset and a pretty sweet view but the best view of all was my sweet husband! (You can follow me on Instagram if you want just look for jessica_monnich, this will be my new real-life contact for clients as I turned of my facebook a little while ago.)

So I wanted to share our experience with you all because you don’t have to go to Jamaica (which we were hoping to do but with airfare, hotel, food, and spending money it was a little much plus we wanted to use Daniel’s big bonus from work to pay off most of our bills so that maybe next year we can go!) for it to be a nice anniversary. Also that love can last and that once the dress is packed away (and in my case doesn’t fit anymore) the best thing from your wedding that still remains years later is your LOVE! :) So while your planning your wedding take a deep breath and remind yourselves why you are doing all of this….. LOVE (and maybe get a good planner like Beth of Stylish happenings :) .

P.s. More wedding related posts on their way! Been a little crazy around here with weddings, my daughter’s birthday, then her getting sick for a week, our anniversary, mother’s day…. anything else we want to cram into this month? :) BUT I love my life and am sooooo thankful for it all!

So I wanted to post on my blog my recent thoughts. I recently deactivated my personal facebook page and will most likely keep it that way until after our new baby is out of the newborn phase (not till next year). It was a hard decision for me to make as I did have quite a few friends on there that I would keep up with. BUT after a little too much drama and a lost friend I decided to shut it down. I think it is hard for people to understand things that are typed versus in person. It is hard to tell if someone is upset or if they are joking around. And it is even harder when people don’t use :) ha. I have also come to a place where I would like to connect with my friends on a more personal level and face to face. I would also like to note this post is NOT an announcement about me retiring! I still love to photograph weddings and kids so please email me with the details of your event info@jessicamonnichphotography.com   Side note: Because posts are so much more fun with photos I wanted to share some of our family photos from last year. All photos (except the ones at the end, those were from my camera phone, so please don’t judge :) ) in this post are of my family and they were done in Dec. 11′ by a good friend of mine who is a photographer… Elizabeth Jayne and my makeup for this shoot was done by the wonderful Katie Astoria of Modern Muse Makeup Artistry .

Not to say that I don’t love my friends on facebook but honestly between work, school, trying to keep the house clean and loving on my husband and daughter (and taking care of myself, being pregnant!) it leaves me little time to keep up with my friend’s friend from highschool. Looking back I spent WAY too much time on there in hopes that someone would need a photographer for something, and I was missing out on life. I was spending night and day on Facebook to where I was ignoring my responsibilities personally. I finally asked myself when life is over who do I want standing by my side? Do I want clients? Not that I don’t want to take care of my clients but I need to have boundries and I don’t HAVE to respond to someone’s email within 15 min. Do I want Facebook “friends” standing by me? Will Facebook even be around at that point!? Will I look back and regret investing so much time into a website that I neglected my kids and husband? These were questions that had been rolling in my head for a while but I didn’t want to admit the truth to myself. After all “everyone is doing it”. I finally came to the conclusion that I want my family by my side not only in death but in life as well! I grew up with parents that were dedicated to their jobs (don’t worry I have talked to them about this and they will be the first to admit it as well. They would also admit that if they could they would do some things differently) so that is all I knew how to act and be. And I surrounded myself with people who were like that as well. I thought well this is how you get ahead in life, you don’t want to always live in an apartment and don’t you want to be a famous photographer one day? You have to work hard to become that. This is true but I have finally come to the place where I want to have time to take care of my family and my clients and not become “famous” to where I am constantly obsessed with getting the next job that I don’t focus on what I do have on my plate right now. And to be THANKFUL for the wonderful family and clients that are a part of my life! Money will come and go and I believe that God will take care of us (yes we have to do our part to work hard but we don’t have to obsess about it and work 14 hours a day, in my opinion). At this point in my life I believe that I have been blessed with a wonderful family that I need to focus on, as my daughter won’t be 6 forever and these are the times we build our relationship so that when she becomes a teenager she will hopefully come to me to talk and not do too many stupid teenage things. Side note on the photo above: DANG I HAVE THE CUTEST HUSBAND ON EARTH! :)

So all in all it is going well so far my family is LOVING that I am not on the computer all the time constantly checking email and facebook. (Now just email ;) but I am working on it I plan on trying to check it once a day.) I have been getting clients their photos back significantly sooner which is making for happier clients as well. So I am happy to report that my Facebook breakup is going well. There are times when I miss being able to see how everyone is doing. It was almost like Facebook became my best friend instead of my real life best friends, Daniel (my husband), Davielle (the best friend I have known for almost more than 10 years!), and Jen (she was my maid of honor and since my Facebook breakup I would say we have become closer because of our weekly and sometimes daily talks at the park with our girls). Sometimes I get lonely but then I remember, oh yeah there is this thing called a phone! I can always call a friend! :)

Also the good thing about my break up with Facebook that has already started to kick in is that I have been able to volunteer at Bella’s school a lot more. They did a kindergarten Rodeo a while ago and I went to volunteer, but ended up taking photos with my camera phone as they ended up not really needing help other than setting up lunch.  (I didn’t bring my real camera as I didn’t think we would have time to take photos). Here are some photos from that…

Isn’t she the cutest little cowgirl ever! :)
