So I am still finishing up a new wedding I can’t wait to share with you all! It is sooooo beautiful that I am just itching with anticipation to post it! So until then I thought I would show you guys this FABULOUS DIY Ice cream parlor set up. It is for weddings but would work well for any kind of ice cream social! I am thinking the kids in our youth group would really dig this too! So when it starts to get a wee bit warmer we will bust this out on them! So if you want to throw an old school ice cream social go to Eat Drink Chic for all the templates for the amazing tags and more photos! {all images by Amy Moss}

Awesome DIY wedding stuff!

January 3, 2010

Ok so I am working on another fantastic wedding but until it is edited and the bride sees it I will share more DIY tips and my fave websites that have more awesome DIY projects for your wedding…

Ok so I wanted to share this awesome idea for a display of family photos. It comes from Laurie Cinotto she did a full tutorial over at Bride’s cafe so if you like it go check out how to DIY.

So I was just trying to think outside the box a little and thought if you have a summer or spring wedding you could do the same but just hang it from the ceiling and change the patterns and colors of the leaves to be more spring like. Also if you are having your wedding in December you could do the same thing but decorate a whole christmas tree and turn these into ornaments. Just a thought :)

So some other fun places to hunt down DIY wedding stuff are…

Wedding Chicks

Once Wed

Bride’s Cafe

100 layer cake

Style me pretty

Inspired Bride

Etsy weddings

Martha Stewart weddings

That should be enough for now to give you hours of entertainment until I am done with my next wedding post :)

P.s. for the DIY bride check out Printable Press! You can pay for the file and then print out as many invitations as you would like by sending it to kinkos or a print shop!

cakeballs

So here are a couple of DIY ideas for you DIY brides out there. I am on the verge of being finished editing so as photoshop is doing some menial tasks for me I will utilize my time and provide you all with some DIY inspiration :) . The first picture is from Bakerella I thought these cakepops would be a fun new way to provide cake without the usual cake or cupcake alternative. You can get the info on how to make them here… Bakerella

aisle candles

more aisle candles

I saw these GORGEOUS aisle candles on Beth Helmstetter’s blog she is out in California. This is such a fun idea! You just need some stumps and pile leaves around the bottom. Then they put down a doily on the top placed more leaves/twigs with leaves ontop then added a candle inside a tall vase/candle holder. Then added some more vases/candle holders around the bottom of the stump- can you say GORGEOUS! Love it!

custombeltforweddingSo this one isn’t a DIY BUT I thought it was an awesome etsy find over at Barking Maddison’s shop! They are custom leather belts! I would LOVE to photograph one of these amazing belts around your man! OR do a ring shot on your favorite words! It would be something unique and something your groom would CHERISH for years to come! Just make sure that you give him space for the honeymoon pounds! :)

DIY wedding ideas…

Ok so I LOOOOVVVEEE weddings! I love the creativity of them and the uniqueness of each one. I look through bridal blogs almost daily so I thought I might as well share these gems with you ladies and gents out there! I love helping my brides enrich their weddings so that it is uniquely yours! I got this DIY progect from the beloved www.designsponge.com It is a summer bouquet that I ADORE! A little insider tip: If you are going truly DIY with your bouquet (Florists don’t kill me cause I LOVE your work!) you can go to Central Market and or Whole foods the day before and pick all the flowers that you love that are in season that they have in stock. We did this for my sister-in-law’s wedding recently and we got all the flowers for bouquets and boutineers for less than $300. BUT you want to make sure that you have a friend or someone that you trust that has put a bouquet together before and or practices putting one together before hand! So with that being said check out this… DIY summer picnic bouquet
