So last week I photographed Keni and Wayne’s wedding at Lakeway Resort and Spa. It was so beautiful there! I LOVE the big glass windows! It made for an AMAZING ceremony backdrop! Keni booked me over a year ago in which in between now and then we did a boudoir shoot and an engagement session. Which was GREAT so that I could meet them and get to know them as they don’t live in Austin. I like to suggest to bride and grooms to have an engagement session to get to know each other and get used to having their photograph taken. Back to Keni and Wayne, they are such a SWEET couple! Totally in love! Their favorite nickname for each other is “Buddy” – tooooo cute! Well onto the images here are some of my faves….

Keni had a GREEN center stone! GORGEOUS!!

Her bridesmaids looked amazing in black! Then her jr. bridesmaids (her sisters) were in adorable jewel toned bubble dresses!

They decided to do a first look, I LOVE when couples do this! It gives you a chance to get out all your “DANG YOU LOOK HOT!” instead of holding it in because your grandma is listening!

GREEEEEEN SHOES!!! and BLUE TOE NAILS!! ADORABLE! Then how can you not LOOOVE his socks!

I KNOW, STUNNING!!

This was at the end of their aisle runner, this is the first one I have seen that I actually LOVE! The writing is awesome and the rhinestones! Awesome!

Wayne shed a tear of joy (above)!

This Dance pic above was one of MANY group dances, they were AMAZING at getting their groove on! It was such a fun reception!

They made paper pomanders, which was BRILLIANT because paper doesn’t wilt!

As you can see by the menu, dinner was AMAZING!

Loved their cakes, the golf balls were made of white chocolate!

They had their guests sign a guitar as their “sign in book”, Wayne plays guitar. They framed a well wishes card sent from President Obama and the First Lady.

Keni and Wayne went out onto the patio to enjoy hand rolled cigars!

Keni made some pillows for two couches that were in the Reception Area, too cute!

Austin wedding at Memory Lane Event Center

I have known this bride for YEARS! I was her youth leader when she was in youth group almost 10 years ago! I became and still am best friends with her best friend at the time, they grew apart when our friend of ours moved to Maui. Mainly because life happens and we meet these boys that become men and ask us to marry them! So after her proposal she contacted me as over the years she has fallen in love with my work. We reconnected and I am so thankful we did! Not only is Christine one of the prettiest people I have ever seen in person she is also the sweetest! (Kindof makes you want to throw up or hate her, but then you can’t cause she is so freaking nice! LOL!) Oh also her nickname is “Teenie” and you will see why, I think I could wrap one hand around her waist! (again I HATE her LOL just kidding sweetie just wish I had your metabolism! ) We have had several deep heartfelt talks since reconnecting and they were so timely and needed for me! Thank you Christine for be such an encouragement to me and being a friend! I look forward to continuing our friendship and getting our guys together too! You have such a sweet man! And he is one lucky man!

It is 4:30am and I neeeeeeeed to go to bed. There are a few more that I would like to add but until then I hope you all enjoy these photos from this very beautiful wedding!

Austin wedding at Zilker Clubhouse

This was such a beautiful wedding that was coordinated by Beth Bennett of Stylish Happenings. I LOVE that lady! She is so super creative! All of the details look like something that belongs on Style Me Pretty and the bride totally belongs on Rock N’Roll Bride!! Kat?? You know you want to feature it . I hope this inspires other brides out there. Enjoy these images of love!

Isn’t she gorgeous!? I LOVE her little pink and white fairy girls!!!

This was an idea I came up with since the kids were running around anyway why

not run around the bride and groom and cause some fun wedding motion blur.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE brooch bouquets!

The bridesmaids carried a bundle of Baby’s Breath- so sweet! As there were TONS of kids involved in this wedding!

They did a birdseed ornament (since it was December) that once the season was over you could

put it outside and watch the birds go to town on it! What a cleaver wedding favor!

Handstiched ring pillow that reads “Me-N-You” so freaking adorable! That little girl is Lacy’s little girl

from a previous marriage but is now a daughter to Chris as well! Oh and the wedding

fairies wore little wings and rang bells as they walked down the aisle!

Zilker Clubhouse overlooks downtown and is perfect for a rustic vintage wedding!

This is the bride and groom’s son, isn’t he adorable!!! Makes me want to have a boy

(NO not pregnant right now) Keep an eye out cause I am going to be putting up some

pics I took of him at a whole session of his own, it was sooooo cute and fun can’t wait to share with you!

Sand for Sand Ceremony

I LOVE how the sand spilled everywhere!

This is a guitar pick the Bride had made for the Groom as he is a musician. So sweet!!

OHHH what a GREAT idea for a Christmas gift next year or maybe anniversary

One of the Groom’s relatives collected over 300 jars for Y2K and as you know it didn’t happen

but they were put to GOOD use at this wedding! Also they filled the bottom with

bird seed which I was told you can get a BIG bag for $25 that filled all 300 jars!

This is a line from the Bride and Groom’s favorite song!

They put lace into LARGE embroidery hoops to make these unique and beautiful decoration!

Can I just say the food was AMAZING! It was catered by a friend of theirs MAN was it TASTY!! They also got pizza for the kiddos

Smore’s bar with a fire pit to roast in.

Hot cocoa and coffee bar had these unique mugs! I LOOOOOVE fun mugs like these!

I would LOVE to buy/steal/be gifted these two mugs in particular Lacy

THIS WAS MY FAVORITE TORTE OF ALLLLLLL TIME! LACY PLEASE SEND THE RECIPE!!!

The ring shot was the Bride’s idea as this is the feet of the Bride and Groom’s son,

adorable! Then, what do you put next to a pic of feet? SHOES!

This was a fun take on a guest book. They painted a bare tree and had guests put their thumbs in green ink to create leaves.

Austin engagement photos: Katherine and Andrew

This was such a fun session! This couple is so FREAKING adorable that it was hard to not take a great picture! I LOVED how Katherine styled her hair in a semi beehive for a fun 60′s Mad Men- ish feel. Then the car- WOW! It is Andrew’s roommates and it is GORGEOUS!

Towards the end of the session we were all joking around it was a really fun session. So the whole time their bangs kept getting in their eyes and to keep from having to retouch every image I would ask them to move their bangs so that the little hairs wouldn’t be in their eyes. At the end of the session Andrew tried to but then it went back into his eyes right away and I said “Swoopsie” we were CRACKING UP! Thanks guys for making this session so fun! Hope you enjoy!

Bella week! Day 2 – Austin Children’s Museum!

Ok so this week I have decided to focus on Bella! Last week I focused on Easter and helping at the church and Bella and I were there almost EVERY day from am to late at night. She did verrrrry well being a 3 yr. old she had less temper tantrums than my mother (seriously!- she would admit it too!). So to reward her she is having a week of fun things! Yesterday I let her watch alllll the shows she wanted to watch (mainly Cailou and Kipper the dog- the kid shows on Netflix) while I cleaned the house that had been left uncleaned for a week- BAD Jessica! Today – Day 2, We started out with gluten free pancakes. She wanted smiley face ones . Then we went to the “Useum” as Bella calls it. We played for two hours! Then we went to Jo’s to get our parking validated and grabbed her a brownie and some oj- it was her pick (kind of gross combo if you ask me! . Then we hit up Target, I was thinking there would be a lot of Easter clearance where we could find some fun stuff- GONE! We walked out with two things of bubbles . BUT they did have some spring kids clothes on sale- $2 shorts- HECK YEAH! Then we went to Central Market to pick up some groceries for dinner where she helped me put mushrooms in the bag and realized she knows what a lot of fruit looks like and their names. “Mommy why do I know about so much fruit?” ” Cause it is good for you and you like to eat it.” “Oh yeah!” Enjoy the photos of the day…

P.s. good news on the business side of things… I have an assistant! YAY! She is great and sweet! She is going to be helping me with online stuff so I don’t have to be online all the time and can hang out with my “chicken nugget aka Bella”. I also tapped into my friendship circle and remembered one of them Rachel Orovio to be exact is handy with photoshop so she is editing my photos with all the style I would put into it. So I am sooooo excited! I get to get back to the stuff I love- photographing weddings, meeting brides AND hanging out with my “chicken nugget” and my HUBS!!!

These were my GF pancakes. I chopped up some apples threw on some sugar, cinnamon and maple syrup- YUUUMMERS!!

Listening very carefully to the instructions on how to make a button at the Children’s Museum. This time around she was drawn to the crafts!

The final product- these are the two buttons she made at the museum. Basically you take a coffee filter and permanent markers and put marks all over the coffee filter then you take a dropper of alchol to the coffee filter. Then you waive the coffee filter around to bleed the colors and make a cool pattern. Then they use a button machine to press the coffee filter in between the metal and the plastic protective layer. Bella LOVES to do this project! This is the second time they have done it so she has a couple of buttons now. Her other favorite is when they make fake snow- I don’t know that she realizes that it is fake Don’t worry I don’t let her eat it or anything she just protects it as though it is gold!

Let it SNOW!

So some of you might be asking- where did Jessica go to? Did she drop off the face of the earth? I haven’t heard from her in almost two weeks. Well I went to Colorado with my family for a family reunion. I was staying at my Great Grandmother’s house so therefore no internet connection. So now here is our trip in blog form! I hope you enjoy! Oh also for the most part if it doesn’t have my logo look for the info on who took it, either Daniel my husband or Joe my brother. Daniel took some really AMAZING snow pictures that if you want to have one printed let me know and we can work something out

The photo above was taken by my husband Daniel: the cool thing is if you look on my cap you can see the individual snowflakes, I loved looking

at the individual snowflakes on my black jacket! They really do look like everyone draws them on cards and wrapping paper etc. So pretty!

Later we celebrated my Dad’s b-day too! December is BUSY for us!

“Meaty” my cousin Ross and his fiance Jillian’s English bulldog- he was so cute! And REALLY LOVED me! So much that he wanted me to

have his puppies!

Bella’s first time to bowl! Everytime we go to Colorado for Christmas we go bowling on Christmas Eve.

I kind of like that tradition! Bella LOVED it! She had a lot of fun!

Driving with a three year old is fun! Especially when your husband is sitting on the arm

rest/console for an hour since there is a TON of luggage in the back.

One hour drive like this what else am I going to do to pass the time- HELLO!

We had to drive to the other part of Denver to visit the other side of the family.

My trip to the Emergency Room! True love conquers all!

So Wednesday night i was SICK! I don’t know how I got it but I lost 15 lbs from being so sick! I went to the Dr. Thursday to see if he could prescribe me some ant-nausea medicine. Because I wasn’t even keeping down water! When I was there they took my blood pressure 4 times! They said that it was VERY low! I normally have a low blood pressure but it was 78/78 average is 120/80! So they told me to go to the ER to get fluids put back into my system since I had lost so much from being so sick. They ened up giving me 2 liters of IV fluids. The nurse said that my body sucked it up pretty quickly. To get the iv put into place I asked for their best “poker” as when I am dehydrated my veins get small and roll (how do I know this? I used to do scientific studies before I amped up my photography buisness- a lot safer! . She had a hard time finding a good vein and with me already feeling bad I knew this wasn’t a good combonation. So she gave me a medicine “cocktail” of anti-nausea, pain killer, and soft tissue pain killer (so she could get the needle in). She said my blood was THICK and not flowing properly so she could tell right away that I NEEDED to be there! About 5 mins. later I was doing AMAZING! She turned off the lights and I was actually able to take a nap! Then I was discharged. Went home and started the process of eating chicken broth and fruit popsicicles. I am doing much better now, still weak and tired but I am pulling through. Thankfully my husband was able to be with me yesterday during all of that and he has helped nurse me back to health. So all that to say when the flowers have faded and the wedding is in a book, LOVE is what lasts! I don’t know how I would have made it through all that without him!
