I thought I should let you all know that I am throwing in the towel for shooting weddings. There are a lot of reasons but the main one is that I have kids and they are only young once. Other people may scoff but that is ok because I don’t live my life for other people. I have to make sure that my family is taken care of and I didn’t feel like this was happening while being a wedding photographer. I also didn’t see much progress and felt like I was SHOVING doors open to make anything happen. So right now I am being a Mom, soul searching and trying to tap into every aspect of my creativity. BUT if you still want family photos, birthday photos, Christmas photos etc I would be more than happy to help you as these are MUCH shorter time commitments than a weddings. I may or may not ever do weddings again but I did love doing them and will give my full heart to the last two that I will be shooting. If you would like to follow our new adventure in crafting and kid related fun you can check out my new blog here… Enjoytodaymomma.blogspot.com (working on being a full time blogger with this new blog we will see where it goes). Thank you for all your love and support over the years!

This was such a fun wedding for me it was really short (compared to most weddings I photograph) but very sweet. They were married at the Justice of the Peace the day before so this was pretty much a reception/celebration. It was a night wedding during December thus the moody lighting and fire in the fire places. Oh and a COFFEE BAR!! Awesome! Well it is 5:30 am on Christmas Eve, I think I will head to bed, until next year… Happy Holidays all!
This is one of the things I LOVE LOVE LOVE about Zilker clubhouse, the VIEW!
They had cake balls made in their new last name.
They had a ribbon waving entrance, I LOVE this idea!!
AND Amy’s icecream! Def. went off the diet that night! SHHHH don’t tell my trainer!
Coordination: Stylish Happenings
Catering: Catering with a Twist
Linens: Sweet Sunday Event Rentals
Location: Zilker Clubhouse

Daniel and I have a huge favor to ask, will you please vote for us daily (until Jan. 2nd) for us to win a vow renewal ceremony on top of the empire state building? We are in the top 16 and only 4 couples to experience this so we NEEEEED your votes! You can vote here..http://tinyurl.com/87g8hzu
This would be a DREAM come true for us to renew our vows in New York! There were several things that we wish we could change about our wedding, it was beautiful but we were on a TIGHT budget and so we had to cut back on a lot of the key elements (dress, wedding photographer, cake, food, liquor, band) at our wedding which some aspects came out awesome because they were hand-made. I don’t want to sound ungrateful because it was still one of the memorable days ever and I look forward to sharing the rest of my life with the BEST MAN EVER! We did get something PERFECTLY right at our wedding, we married each other, so it is TOTALLY worth celebrating!
If we win here is what we will win (this is from their website)….
Colin Cowie Designed ceremony and reception featuring Dom Perignon Champagne, Godiva Chocolates, and a designer wedding cake; a designer wedding gown for the bride from the world-famous bridal salon Kleinfeld (home to “Say Yes To The Dress”); formal attire for the groom from Men’s Wearhouse; hair and beauty for the bride from Estee Lauder; hotel accommodations for the winning couples at The Pierre Hotel for 3 days and 2 nights; car service to and from the Empire State Building; wedding photography by Christian Oth Studio.
One week after the weddings each couples’s wedding album will be posted online and the public will vote for their favorite wedding, The couple receiving the most votes will have the chance to win a $100,000 cash prize to start their life off in style.
Here is the video that qualified us for the contest…

Beijing Wedding part two!!August 24th, 2011I was convinced to catch up on the photos from my trip to China. I would say that I am a pretty prolific blogger, at least once a week if not every other week. BUT I let time get away with me on this one. I got it to the bride and she loved it [...] |
I was convinced to catch up on the photos from my trip to China. I would say that I am a pretty prolific blogger, at least once a week if not every other week. BUT I let time get away with me on this one. I got it to the bride and she loved it but I just thought that you all might want to see the pretty photos
Also I now own Lightroom 3 which it has a “print” module that you can have it “print” to file and create super awesome blog boards in miliseconds! So this week I am going to try to catch up on all of my blogging, 4 weddings and a pregnancy session. THANK GOD for Lightroom! It is helping me to edit sooooo much faster than Photoshop CS! I know all you photographers out there will think I am crazy for not updating that till now, BUT I updated my computer to a Mac!! Then my gear which was quite a BIG hunk of change, so I finally got around to Lightroom, and I wish I would have done it sooner, but alas it is a life saver! Ok I will stop yammering, I hope you enjoy the photos. You can see part one here… Beijing China wedding part one. This wedding took place at The Orchard in Beijing China

From the moment I met her I KNEW we were meant to be! Photographer and bride that is
She gave me a big hug as though we had known each other for years. We talked and planned for her fabulous wedding and engagement session over a glass of wine and delicious food at South Congress cafe. (since the economy got a little rough I have stopped meeting here
to save some money and put towards debt and getting my own equipment!) When all the planning was hashed out she left the resturaunt with a hug too! I KNEW she was going to be my number one fan! Because of her and Jay I was published in Austin American Statesman on the front page of the Life and Arts section!!! All of that to say we never got a chance to take bridal pictures of the fabulous Carol! So in exchange I told her that we would shoot after the wedding with her in her dress and him in his tux (he bought it since he is an awesome lawyer and could use it for business dinners, Jay Smith- Carol tell me his info and I will put it up
. So I was totally excited about this shoot but they kept me waiting…. waiting and …. waiting
Till finally we set a time and date and these are the AMAZINGLY fabulous images that came of that hot hot day! (PHEW All done Jay PROMISE, until you have a baby that is
FABULOUS!
